Update 3 May 2015

UPDATE 03.05.2015
On April 29 SAR DOGS Nepal reached the village Bhachchowk at 11pm near Kharibot in Gorkha, immediately set up tents and met with 18 Pokhara para glider pilots to discuss the situation. It was raining terribly during the time they established the camp and they got literally soaked.
On April 30 they split up in 2 teams. Team A met with the secretary of Kharibot VDC (Hari Pun) and medical professionals from that area to coordinate. Team B researched Kharibot. Many houses are collapsed, including the health post. Our people helped the local pharmacist Subash Duwadi to dig up lost medicine with a total value of 400.000,- Rupees.
Mostly affected are Ward no. 2 and no. 5. 10 persons in Ward no. 2 are reported injured, 1 person is reported dead. 3 injured people were found by SAR DOGS Nepal, all 3 were transferred by helicopter for further treatment.

Update 30 April 2015

Update 30.4.2015 - 7:00am(NPT)
Yesterday (29 April 2015) our SAR DOGS teams have traveled by jeeps under better weather conditions to Gorkha. It was difficult to find 4 willing drivers to go into the heavy damaged area. They departed from our office in Pokhara around noon.
Today (30 April 2015) the weather is still very bad. It started raining around 4:30am and this condition will persist through the next 24 hours. Thunderstorms over Kaski Lamjung and Gorkha districts will delay all other relief rescue helicopter flights again. The Nepal Army evacuates wounded villagers to Pokhara with their heavy load helicopters since yesterday.
This had caused another half day of lost chances to find living people underneath the rubble of their collapsed houses and under the many land and rock slides alongside the way up to the many wide spread hamlets and small villages around our target area Kharibot. The time window to find people alive with our dogs closes rapidly now.
Stay tuned for more to come a.s.a.p.
