Australian Matthew Allpress (23) was last seen in Siklis on November 3, 2013 heading for Dudh Pokhari. He never left the area and was reported missing on November 17 after missing his flight to Australia on November 14.

November 30, 2013 a SAR DOGS NEPAL team of 7 searchers and 4 tracker dogs was deployed to search the extended area north and east of Siklis (Annapurna Conservation Area). In Februari 2014, after a total of 36 days ground search, the family of Matthew suspended the search until spring time due to heavy snow fall near the trails close to the Namun La Pass.

May 12, 2014 Matt's human remains were found by two local Nepalese people in the mountains above Siklis about one hour off the main track.
